About Pride Toronto 2015

Pride Week in Toronto is one of Canada's premier arts and cultural festivals and one of the largest Pride celebrations in the world. Together with thousands of individuals, community groups, businesses and participating sponsors, we are proud to celebrate the lives and stories of Toronto's Queer Communities.

Pride Week features 10 days of world class arts and cultural programming, community activities, one of the world’s largest street festivals, Pride Parade, Dyke March, Trans Pride,  Family programming, Blockorama, Fruit Loopz youth program and much more.

Returning for our 35th celebration, we invite you to join us for Pride Week 2015, from Friday June 19th to Sunday June 28th.

We need over 2000 volunteers to Make Pride Happen and YOU should be one of them!

Types of Roles

Behind the Scenes Logistics

Roles that require less interaction with the public include checking in volunteers at the Festival Headquarters, patrolling the festival to ensure Public Safety, and assisting with the setup of infrastructure like tables, chairs and signs.

Crowd Engagement

Roles that require you to be walking around the festival interacting with the public include working on a team collecting donations from visitors, marshaling marchers down the parade route, and assisting with crowd control in the outdoor entertainment venues.

Quiet Cultural Events

Roles that are in quieter spaces and are more stationary include assisting with children's activities at Family Pride, working in the drug and alcohol free area of the festival, or hosting an elevated viewing stand for people with disabilities.

The most satisfying part of volunteering was "seeing and interacting with so many other volunteers."

Get Started

1. Create a Profile

First, create a username and password (that you will remember) and answer all of the questions to the best of your knowledge. Our team will then review your answers to help you find an opportunity, or opportunities, that suit you best. You will get an email from us telling you when shifts become available for you to sign up.

2. Log In and Sign Up

Log-in to view available volunteer shifts! Sign up for those that interest you and fit your schedule.

3. Attend Training

Closer to the Festival, we'll invite all weekend volunteers to attend one of several training sessions where you will meet your Team Leads and receive more information on your volunteer role. These training sessions are mandatory, fun, and will prepare you for your role during the festival. We will provide you with a training manual which will also be available in digital form.
