Family Pride Volunteer (Family Pride)

Family Pride Volunteer:
• Required to have a police background check completed through Pride Toronto
• Good English language communication and comprehension skills
• Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time (shifts are approx. 6 hours)
• Experience working with children and families, especially in the LGBTTIQQ2SA community, is beneficial
• Some heavy lifting may be required

Duties for Set Up on Friday
On Friday evening, Family Pride volunteers will be helping with site preparations:
• Delivery of all supplies
• Food and Beverage set up
• Inventory of available supplies at school
• General set up

Duties for On-Site on Saturday and Sunday
Over Pride weekend, Family Pride volunteers will be helping with a variety of tasks in the Family Pride area, including:
• Welcome desk and registration: welcoming guests, asking them to fill out our survey, stroller park
• Crowd control, flow, and directions
• Food and Beverage: set up, serving, distributing, and replenishing of food, snacks, beverage, and supplies for brunches
• Arts, Crafts, Games Area: monitor arts and crafts area, encourage kids to participate in activities
• Assisting performers and vendors
• Set up and Tear down

All Family Pride volunteers will be cross-trained in order to be able to take on any of the above roles. Volunteers may request specific duties prior to the festival; otherwise duties will be assigned on-site.
